Aaron Bean is a social entrepreneur with a passion for building data-informed communities. He is a co-founder and the managing director of Asemio. In addition to working in the private sector, Aaron spent 2009–2011 serving in the United States Peace Corps, focusing on capacity building in Central Asia.
Brian is a Software Engineer at Asemio. Prior to joining the Asemio team, he worked as a server-side web developer for a marketing firm developing websites for national brands, and as an e-learning developer at a Washington, DC–area performance consultancy, where he helped create courseware for a national insurance company. Before that, Brian served as an active duty soldier in the United States Army for over a decade. He holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology and is a graduate of the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
Willem is a Software Engineer at Asemio. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology from Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining Asemio, Willem worked at a healthcare technology company, where he built and maintained large-scale web applications, including one of the largest patient review systems in the nation.
Simon is a Senior Software Engineer at Asemio. Prior to joining the company, he worked at startups in Silicon Valley, where he specialized in distributed systems and databases. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in software engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure in Montréal, Canada, and he is a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng). He is a founding member of the OkTurtles Foundation and maintains several popular open source projects in his spare time.
Tim Maddox is an Asemio Salesforce Software Engineer with 25+ years development experience including flagship health insurance projects using Salesforce, Java and PowerBuilder technologies. He loves working on solutions in a team environment and enthusiastically supports collaboration, communication, cooperation and coordination in pursuit of quality products. When not behind a keyboard, Tim can be found outside exploring a variety of movement pursuits and enjoying the quiet stillness of nature.
Thomas is a Software Engineer at Asemio with a background in data transformation and loading. Prior to joining the team, he worked at Deloitte on process workflow and support tool development in the healthcare revenue cycle and in the public sector with payroll and resource management. Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, majoring in both management information systems and economics.
Artem is a software developer with a Bachelor of Computer/IT Administration and Management from Kyiv National Economic University. An entrepreneur at heart, he started out running a digital marketing firm supporting businesses in post-Soviet countries as they transitioned onto the internet. After immigrating to the U.S., he worked in the Bay Area maintaining IT infrastructures for companies with thousands of employees. Before joining Asemio, Artem worked in education, empowering students all over the world to jumpstart their careers in information and web technologies.
Christina Callas is a Senior Project Manager at Asemio. Prior to Asemio, she worked as a project manager for an engineering services firm, providing highly customized solutions for midstream oil and gas clients. She brings a decade of experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and is passionate about finding innovative solutions to high-impact problems. Christina earned a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of San Diego.
Zach Christy is a Software Engineer at Asemio. He studied Civil Engineering at Washington State University. Before joining the Asemio team, Zach worked as a full-stack developer for an app development company, where he led a team in creating multiple iOS, Android, and web applications for various customers.
Jessica England is the Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Asemio. Prior to Asemio, Jessica worked in healthcare IT, managing efforts funded by a $12 million federal Beacon grant for a regional health information exchange. She also worked for electronic health record giant Epic, where she managed multiple large-scale, multi-hospital implementations of medical record software, providing oversight on adherence to best practices for system implementation, conversions, and end-user buy-in. Jessica earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Oklahoma. She currently serves as an officer on the Tulsa Literary Coalition board of directors.
Amy is a Project Manager at Asemio. Prior to joining Asemio, she managed complex public health surveillance projects, primarily in K-12 schools, for federal, state, and local agencies. She also brings to the team 10 years of professional experience in higher education administration. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Education from The College of William & Mary.
Mason Meyer is a Delivery Lead at Asemio and is passionate about leveraging the power of technology to transform communities. Prior to joining Asemio, Mason was a client success manager at a summer camp software company in Colorado where he helped camp directors spend more time with campers and less time in the office. In his free time, Mason supports local bike-sharing nonprofit, This Machine, providing fleet maintenance and community engagement assistance. He earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Oklahoma State University.
Erin Powell is a Grants and Marketing Coordinator at Asemio and a powerful storyteller dedicated to challenging the status quo through community empowerment. Erin earned her bachelor’s degree at The George Washington University studying international affairs and sustainability, where she became an award-winning researcher for her community-based participatory research in partnership with a South African youth center. In her free time, Erin supports local farmer’s markets and yoga studios across Philadelphia. She is a 2021 Venture for America Fellow who is committed to creating entrepreneurial opportunities for herself and others in cities across America.
Boo and Tater are Asemio’s canine ambassadors and are responsible for ensuring the team’s positive well being. While currently part-time, their primary responsibilities include providing individual greetings to each team member upon arrival at the office, zooming around the conference table (at appropriate times, of course), and investigating everybody’s lunch. Both Boo and Tater bring a wealth of experience in collaboration, resourcefulness, and political influence (evidenced by Tater’s deft ability to obtain frequent belly rubs from many team members). Outside of work, you can find these two walking around the block or at a nearby brewery, lifting the moods of friends and strangers alike.
Blake Connally is a senior software developer at Asemio with nearly a decade of experience in consulting firms. He specializes in C#, .NET, and Angular, excelling in designing scalable applications and user-friendly web interfaces. Blake’s problem-solving skills and effective communication enable him to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and clients. He is dedicated to staying updated with the latest advancements in the industry and actively seeks opportunities for professional growth.
Yaroslav specializes in quality assurance and training efforts to ensure the delivery of high quality software for Asemio’s clients. Prior to joining Asemio, Yaroslav worked as a newspaper correspondent, covering news in a variety of fields, including healthcare, consumer affairs and business, social services, and education. He is passionate about advocacy and volunteer work, and has served as a volunteer supporting individuals with physical disabilities for the last decade.
Lauren Graber is the Director of Finance & Administration at Asemio. She started her career in general management consulting at Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Booz & Company. Lauren has work experience in leading strategic business transformations and managing project portfolios focused on business process redesign, change management, and continuous improvement. She has worked as a business unit leader for McKesson Technologies in various roles focused on internal consulting and business optimization. Lauren earned a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The George Washington University.
Larry Lee is a Software Developer with a passion for developing socially impactful systems. He specializes in formally verified software development and has experience designing critical-systems hardware. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College, and has over 10 years of experience working with organizations such as the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and SiFive to develop technology for the social good.
Aubry is a Software Engineer on the Asemio team. She came to software engineering by way of nonprofit project management and bilingual case management. In those roles she developed an interest in technology as both a skill and an impact multiplier. Aubry has never let go of her case-management roots, and strives to support creative and flexible problem-solving in every team and project she works on. She is passionate about the missions of Asemio and its clients, and is delighted to support the teams carrying out those missions by doing something as fascinating and fun as engineering software.
Ben is the Director of Operations at Asemio. He began his career building full-stack solutions for the K–12 technology ecosystem. Ben’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for helping communities eventually led him to co-found Asemio. He brings a wide range of experience to the company, from running day-to-day business operations to checking lines of code.
