Listen to Asemio Decoded: Into the Rabbit Hole
We’re back! We have another episode of Asemio Decoded for you, and we’re diving into another dynamic conversation about the intersection between technology and social impact with one of our partners in the public health domain, Waldo Mikels-Carrasco.
This Week on Asemio Decoded: Discussing Identity and Impact with Waldo Mikels-Carrasco
This week, we sat down with Waldo who is the Director of the Center for Health Information Sharing and Innovation at the Illinois Public Health Institute and Co-Director of Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH). Waldo has been working with us for a while now, and he shares our passion for finding ways to use data to help people in need.
“The idea is, if we can figure out ways to create trusted information, frameworks, and networks, where a limited amount of information can be exchanged from one trusted source to another trusted site, […] we’ve just jumped a major hurdle in time and effort to get that person closer to care. And then, the more of those areas you can bring together, the better.”
– Waldo Mikels-Carrasco on Asemio Decoded, Ep. 2
Buckle up for a conversation packed with Waldo’s incredible background which inspired his path in public health, the nuances of his day-to-day work, and how data can be both a valuable tool and a source of distrust in the communities that can benefit from its use the most.
